Your files stay on your device

ScanforPC scans your drives locally to show you what's using space. The names, contents, and locations of your files are processed only on your computer and are never uploaded, transmitted, or sent to us or anyone else. We have no access to your files, folders, or scan results.

What we do collect

When you buy or activate ScanforPC, we handle:

• Your email address — to send your license key and download link, and for support.
• Your name (as provided at checkout) — to personalize your receipt and license email.
• Purchase details — a payment reference and your license key, so we can verify your purchase and provide support or refunds.
• A device identifier — when you activate, the app sends an anonymous fingerprint (a one-way hash derived from your Windows installation) so that a license can be tied to one computer. This is not personally identifying and cannot be reversed into any personal information.

Payment information

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Dodo Payments. Your card details are entered on their secure checkout and are handled by them — ScanforPC never sees or stores your full card number.

Service providers we use

• Dodo Payments — payment processing.
• Supabase — stores your purchase record and license key.
• Resend — delivers your license and support emails.

These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service and under their own privacy commitments.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to deliver your purchase, activate and verify your license, provide support, and process refunds. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Update checks

The app periodically checks our website for a newer version so it can let you know when an update is available. This check does not include any of your files or personal data.

Data retention

We keep your purchase and license records for as long as needed to support your license and meet legal or accounting requirements. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us, subject to any records we must retain by law.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Email support@scanforpc.com and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here, and the “Last updated” date will be revised.
